“A renewal of economic life depends on the conscious choices and commitments of individual believers who practice their faith in the world. We cannot separate what we believe from how we act in the marketplace and the broader community.” (Economic Justice for All, USCCB)
What is Corporate Social Responsibility?
Socially Responsible Investing enables us to use our voice as investors to call for socially responsible corporate policies and practices. As shareholders we can influence the behavior of a company in which stock is held. The Investment Policy of the Sisters of Saint Joseph includes monitoring our stock portfolio in relation to social and environmental issues, a commitment to shareholder activity, and to voting proxy forms.
