Subsidized Senior Residences

Academy Village located in McSherrystown, Pennsylvania celebrates more than thirty years of providing affordable housing for senior citizens and disabled younger persons. In cooperation with the Adams County Housing Authority the Sisters of Saint Joseph lease these one bedroom apartments to qualified persons.

Founded in 1984, Bethlehem Village is supported by funds from the Department of Housing and Urban Development and directed in the spirit and mission of the Sisters of Saint Joseph. The 100 apartments at Bethlehem Village offer housing to seniors living on a limited income.

Cecilian Village is the most recent of our federally subsidized housing efforts in McSherrystown, Pennsylvania. In the spirit of responding to the needs of the dear neighbor the Sisters of Saint Joseph provide safe and affordable housing for senior citizens. Cecilian Village provides 49 one bedroom apartments for persons 62 years of age and older who wish to live independently.

Saint Joseph Village located in McSherrystown, Pennsylvania provides 40 one bedroom units of affordable housing for eligible senior citizens. For Sisters of Saint Joseph the ministry of presence plays an essential role at Saint Joseph Village as the Sisters are available to respond to the needs of the residents each day. Planned activities and volunteer opportunities stimulate  community and belonging among the residents.
