October invites us to reflect on several important issues affecting our communities: the November midterm elections and the importance of civic participation, voting access, and fair representation; health care access and affordability as families face rising coverage costs; the environmental impact of AI and expanding data centers, reminding us to consider how technology uses energy, water, and land; and Respect Life Month, which calls us to uphold the dignity of every person and seek justice rooted in compassion and mercy. Together, these issues invite us to prayer, education, advocacy, and action for our neighbors and our common home.
