September Digest 2026

September 2026 JPIC Digest
The September JPIC Digest invites us to reflect on our call to care for creation, protect sacred lands, seek justice, and welcome our most vulnerable neighbors. In this year’s Season of Creation theme, Living Water, we are reminded through Ezekiel 47 of God’s life-giving waters that bring renewal and allow all creation to flourish. This theme calls us to protect our shared water resources and take action for environmental justice.
This issue also highlights the importance of protecting Indigenous sacred lands, including Chaco Canyon, from mineral development and oil drilling; provides opportunities for advocacy and action to protect clean water and environmental safeguards in Pennsylvania; and introduces NETWORK’s See. Love. Vote. nonpartisan campaign encouraging participation in the 2026 elections through the lens of the common good.
As we observe the World Day of Migrants and Refugees on September 27, we are invited to remember children who have been displaced by conflict, persecution, and climate change, and to recognize Christ in our migrant and refugee brothers and sisters. The Digest also includes resources from Vatican News and UNICEF and features a JPIC Highlight introducing student intern Jackson Savokinas.
