Saint John Neumann Society

What is the Saint John Neumann Society?

The Saint John Neumann Society is a special group of people who support the mission of the Sisters of Saint Joseph by committing to a monthly gift of a specific amount.

This kind of support, because it is regular and ongoing, allows us to continue the care of our elderly sisters, as well as to plan ahead for our ministries. It enables our sisters to better serve those in need of education, housing, job training and much more.

In recognition of and appreciation for this commitment to our mission, members receive a series of benefits.

Why Saint John Neumann?

Our Society is named for the beloved Philadelphia bishop who was instrumental in our Sisters’ earliest endeavors into healthcare and Catholic education.

As bishop, Saint John Neumann worked closely with Mother Saint John Fournier, foundress of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Philadelphia. Under his direction, the Sisters took charge of Saint Joseph’s Hospital and were involved in establishing and maintaining successful parochial schools in the City.

Our connection to Saint John Neumann dates back to our earliest years in Philadelphia, but his legacy continues to influence our mission and ministries to this day.

What are the membership benefits?
